Pagan Nation is a largely interactive pagan and heathen community meeting online and in real life. We have left the main menu off of this Encyclopedia / Wiki service to allow participants more room to move around, browse, contribute, and edit. At anytime, you may return to the main Pagan Nation site by using the menu at left. Simply click on Pagan Nation Main.
All Members may Add to or Edit this Encyclopedia Sound’s insane right? Well, all members can roll back and change any edits made by other members too. Further, should this Encyclopedia be attacked (and we know it will) or be subverted for advertising or political agendas (and we know it will) we can roll back any changes made by any member and lock that member out by membership name and IP address. So if you are a nut case, who wants to destroy our hard work, feel free to spend hours changing every reference to “Jesus loves you” and then with two clicks we will change everything back to the way it was.
Do you oppose this Encyclopedia and the Modern Pagan and Heathen movement? If, on the other hand, you oppose the modern Pagan and Heathen movement and want to do so civilly I, A.J. Drew, will be more than happy to help you set up your own Encyclopedia / Wiki service for your religious endeavors. I am the product of a multi-denominational family in which God was taught to be love; thus I will help any religious endeavor which seeks to better the world in which our children and their children will live. I believe firmly that there is one Creator, but many ways to view and serve that Creator. My offer to assist you is simply one of mine. I hope your acceptance of this help as opposed to causing further strife between our two communities is one of yours. Isn’t it time to end the intolerance before more people die.
What is Here?
You have reached the Pagan Nation Encyclopedia / Wiki site. This site was launched on April 30, 2007 after much hard work and hair pulling to fully incorporate it into the established membership routines of Pagan Nation. Right now, there is very little here but we expect this service to grow quickly as our membership looks forward to opportunities such as this.
This is your Opportunity Yes, we did say opportunity. This project seeks to build one of the best references to both the modern and ancient pagan and heathen communities. We feel this is possible because most existing references have been created via traditional publishing methods. Those methods are far too beholding to market trends to provide reliable content. So this is your opportunity to build something different. Something by pagan and heathen folk for pagan heathen folk. So please participate.
How do I Participate? You must be Logged in to participate in any way other than reading articles and entries.
Existing Articles: Click on Encyclopedia List and select articles you might be able to add information to. Once you find an article you believe you can improve, simply click edit.
New Articles: If you do not find an article you have information on, maybe a ritual, ritual tool, author, deity, or other item of interest to pagan and heathen folk; then type it into the search box. If no article is found, you will be asked if you would like to create one.
It is that easy! But it will only work if you participate.
Can I get Fancy? Media Wiki (the software that runs this service) can do a lot more than has been thus far described. Right now, we have limited instructions. If you would like to experiment and help us develop a good help file for getting fancy with your editions, then visit http://mediawiki.org and discover how to use this software. Then help us write the help file by clicking on Encyclopedia Help and then edit to include the tricks you have learned.
